Terms of Use

1. Agreement

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a contract between you and Jungean-Herman Marius-Alexandru, acting as Alexandru Jungean, for Password Generator at https://password.alexjungean.com.

By using the Service you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Mandatory consumer protections in the EU/EEA prevail over any clause that would restrict them.

2. The Service

The Service is a free, browser-local password and passphrase generator. It is not a password manager, vault, or account service.

• generation runs only in this browser using crypto.getRandomValues;
• there are no accounts, payments, or API keys;
• generated secrets are not uploaded;
• output strength depends on the policy you choose and on your device’s CSPRNG;
• we do not promise that a password will be accepted by a third-party site.

3. No recovery; local session

There is no account and no backup. We never receive the generated secret, so we cannot recover, reset, or look up a password or passphrase for you. If you close the tab, regenerate, or leave the page without saving the secret yourself, it is gone.

The Service is not a vault, archive, or evidence-preservation system.

4. Your device, clipboard, and screen

You are responsible for the device and the environment in which you generate a secret.

• a compromised browser, a malicious extension, or shared malware can read the page or the clipboard;
• Copy writes the real secret to the clipboard; clipboard managers, other apps, or a later paste can expose it;
• anyone who can see your screen, a recording, or a shoulder-surfed display can read a revealed password;
• we cannot protect a secret after you copy, save, reuse, or send it.

5. Acceptable use

You may use the Service to generate secrets for your own accounts and systems. You must not:

• attack, scrape, or overload the host;
• use the Service to facilitate crime;
• misrepresent the operator or claim that generated secrets were issued by us as credentials.

6. Optional breach check (third party)

Check known breaches is optional. If you use it, this browser sends a five-character SHA-1 prefix to Have I Been Pwned. We do not operate that API, we do not receive the request, and we do not warrant that Have I Been Pwned is available, complete, or accurate.

Have I Been Pwned is an independent service. Their terms and privacy notice apply to that lookup. A “not found” result is not a promise that the secret is safe to use.

7. Intellectual property

8. Warranty and liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant uninterrupted availability, a particular entropy number across every browser, or fitness for a high-assurance system.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost access, lost accounts, or substitute services, arising from a secret you generate, copy, reuse, or lose, from a compromised device, or from Have I Been Pwned.

If we are liable despite the previous paragraph, our aggregate liability for all claims arising out of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim (currently zero, because the Service is free) and (b) EUR 0, except where a higher minimum is mandatory.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for:

• intent (dol) or, where mandatory, gross negligence;
• death or personal injury caused by negligence;
• fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
• any liability that Romanian law or EU consumer law does not allow to be limited.

If you are a consumer, you keep every statutory guarantee and remedy that cannot be waived, including mandatory digital-content rules. Those protections prevail over this section.

9. Law

The Service is operated from Romania. Romanian law and applicable EU law govern the operator’s information duties. Contact: alex.jungean@gmail.com.
